About Chicago

Chicago is known for its impressive skyline, but there's more to this aspiring "greenest city in North America." Enjoy high-end shopping along the Magnificent Mile, visit the acclaimed Field Museum of Natural History, and stroll through lush parks tucked among city streets. Looks like being green is easier than we thought.

The "suburb" of Evanston is actually a city unto itself. Home to some of Chicagoland's most magnificent mansions and estates, it is also center of the richest mix of economic, cultural, racial, and ethnic diversity outside the big city limits. The influence of Northwestern University's infuses the city with culture, art, theater and forward thinking awareness. The additional attraction of four assessable beaches, numerous parks and extensive amenities and free festivals, (including Woofstock, ) make it a haven for 150,000 eclectic residents. Evanston has one of the country's most jubilant July 4th celebrations, organized and funded by volunteers. Matching the broad tastes of Evanston's population, are many authentic ethnic and upscale dining venues.

Of all Chicago's world-class architectural icons, the Bahai Temple  in Wilmette is possibly the most beautiful of all. An aerial view of the building reveals its meaningful intention; it is a lotus flower peaking over the greenery of the North Shore garden. From a distance, we see not a concrete jungle, not a throbbing, bustling hub of suburbia, but a single flower blooming along the shoreline of Lake Michigan.
